Who we are
John Harle - Creative and Musical Director
John Harle is the Ivor Novello Award-winning composer of over 100 film and television projects, and his theme for Silent Witness has remained the title music of the production for over twenty years. He has received two Royal Television Society awards for Best Original Music, plus Grammy, Mercury Music and British Advertising Music award nominations. His songs have reached the No.1 position in the UK Dance Chart, the US Crossover Chart, and the UK Classical Chart.
He was Artistic Advisor to Sir Paul McCartney for six years, and has written and produced major album and touring projects for Elvis Costello and Marc Almond of Soft Cell. He has been producer and Musical Director for Herbie Hancock, Elmer Bernstein, Stanley Myers and Hans Zimmer, Moondog, Michael Nyman, Lesley Garrett and Dame Cleo Laine.
John is a world-class saxophonist, and has been soloist at The Last Night of the Proms.
He has written the definitive book on saxophone playing and performance, which is published by Faber Music.
Nigel Barr - Music Supervision and Business Affairs
Nigel's international music business activities have involved managing artists, music clearance, negotiation and contractual work for artists, record companies, film studios, publishers and advertising agencies.
His unique understanding of all sides of the business as well as long standing relationships with many influential bodies gives him an unrivalled skill set and the ability to make informed choices on behalf of his clients.

Simon Platz - Publishing Consultant
Simon Platz graduated from Sussex University in 1979. Various jobs followed from bus driver, publican, BBC scene shifter to managing Eddie Edwards after the 1988 winter Olympics! Simon joined the family firm of Essex Music in 1984. Essex had been founded by Simon’s father David in the 1950’s. The Essex catalogue of titles by the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Joe Cocker from the backbone to Bucks Music Group’s current operation. Essex was demerged soon after Simon joined. Simon’s own company Bucks Music Group Limited now administers the family company and is very active in acquiring further rights.
He is a Director of the Music Publishers Association ‚PRS For Music, PMLL and a Trustee of Heart N Soul, a disability arts group based at the Albany in Deptford. He is also a Trustee of the PRS Foundation.
Andrew Thompson - Legal Affairs
Andrew is one of the Lee & Thompson's founding partners and today is the firm's Senior Partner. In the early years of his career he worked principally for independent record companies. In particular, he worked closely with Chrysalis Records until the label was acquired by EMI in 1992. Andrew became one of the "standout" figures in the music business and has acted for world renowned acts over the years including Depeche Mode, Simply Red, Sir Tom Jones, Wet Wet Wet, Richard Ashcroft, the Spice Girls and Karl Jenkins.
Andrew's main focus is now on talent representation. He acts for leading composers, for a host of major recording artists and for songwriters, producers and managers. He also acts for writers and for various sports and other "personalities" including David and Victoria Beckham.The latest edition of Chambers & Partners ranks Andrew as a Band 1 leader in his field. Andrew is also a trained mediator.
